Breast Implant Removal in Philadelphia, PA

Dr. Lohner sees patients from Bryn Mawr, Main Line, Rosemont, Philadelphia, and other cities throughout Pennsylvania for breast implant removal.

For a variety of reasons, trauma, age, sickness, or other medical complications, breast implants occasionally require removal or replacement. Also called “explantation,” this procedure involves the surgeon making a simple incision to remove the previously inserted implant. If the procedure is desired because the patient is dissatisfied with the size or appearance of her original implants, new implants are placed at the same time (breast implant revision). Patient recovery after implant removal is fairly rapid, with most returning to full activity within three weeks.

Whether implants were originally placed for cosmetic or reconstructive purposes, removal may be covered by health insurance depending on the circumstances. Check with your insurance company or call Dr. Lohner’s office if you have any questions regarding potential insurance coverage.
