What is BBL™?
Let’s start with the basics
BroadBand Light (BBL™) is the world’s most powerful IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) device on the market. It sets a new standard in treating your most common skin conditions with the power of light.
The light energy delivered by BBL™ will gently heat the upper layers of your skin. The heat absorbed by the targeted areas will stimulate your skin cells to regenerate. This corrective process will restore your skin to its natural beauty, making it clearer, smoother, vibrant, and younger-looking.
BBL™ allows your clinician to treat age spots, small facial veins, and many other skin conditions.
BBL™ stimulates cells to regenerate, and typically with the first treatment, you will start to see smoother, more even, and more vibrant skin. The photothermal energy will eliminate fine vessels that cause redness and reduce unwanted melanin that produces age and sunspots. Your skin will feel smoother, pores will be less noticeable, and uneven pigmentation will fade.
The treatment is soothing, refreshing, non-irritating, and immediately effective. BBL™ can be the foundation for and used in conjunction with all other BBL™ treatments.

Forever Young BBL™
A new approach to younger-looking skin.
For as long as women and men have been concerned about aging, there have been promises of younger-looking skin. Contrary to popular belief, creams and lotions can’t penetrate the skin’s surface. This means they can’t reach the deeper layers of skin where much of the aging process happens.
Introducing Forever Young BBL™ from Sciton, a revolutionary treatment that sends light energy deep into the skin to boost your body’s natural ability to fight again. The result? Skin that’s visibly younger-looking, year after year!
Forever Young BBL™ is not just for women and men who have experienced sun damage over the course of their life. It also has PREJUVENATION™ benefits keeping young skin looking young.
What to Expect on the Day of your BBL™ treatment
The procedure is typically gentle and safe. Generally, there is no need for a topical anesthetic; however, your clinician may choose to use it. Your eyes will be protected with safety shields or glasses. You may briefly feel a warm or “rubber band snap” sensation as the light is absorbed by the targeted areas. Your procedure may take as little as a few minutes depending on the size of the area to be treated and the type of procedure performed. Your clinician will discuss all of your options with you including the benefits, risks, and what to expect.
How many treatments will I need?
The number of treatments needed will vary from patient to patient and your clinician will personalize a treatment plan based on your needs and desired outcome.
Forever Clear
Have you tried numerous methods to get acne under control? Forever Clear BBL™ is a cutting-edge acne treatment that uses the power of light to comfortably and effectively clear acne without creams or medicine. BBL™ is the world’s most powerful IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) device delivering light energy deep into your skin to stimulate and regenerate your skin cells, leaving you with clear, healthy, radiant skin. Forever Clear BBL™ uses a unique three-step process.
STEP 1:
Skin is first treated with blue BBL™ light to eliminate acne-causing bacteria at its source, deep down in the pores.
STEP 3:
For added benefit, the skin is then treated with SkinTyte II™ using infrared light in rapid, gentle pulses to initiate the body’s natural healing process.
STEP 2:
Skin is then treated with yellow BBL™ light to reduce the inflammation and acne-associated redness to give you healthy, luminous skin.
BBL™ Recovery
” resume most of your activities immediately.”
This is a non-invasive and typically gentle procedure with virtually no downtime. In most cases, you are able to return to work and resume most of your activities immediately. Your clinician will provide you with more information on what to expect as well as give you an aftercare plan to follow that will involve avoiding direct sun exposure and using sunscreen.
You may experience some redness that should resolve within a few hours. Consult your clinician if it does not. For some spots, you will see a darkening of the treated areas followed by fading and flaking off at a later stage. Results depend on your skin type, the number of treatments and the area treated.
How Much Does BBL™ cost in Philadelphia?
The exact cost of BBL™ in Philadelphia will depend on the extent of correction and the individual patient. At your initial consultation, Dr. Lohner will go over the procedures and the costs involved.
