Transform Your Profile With Rhinoplasty

Rhinoplasty, commonly known as a “nose job,” is a procedure that changes the shape and, frequently, the function of the nose. Surgeons perform rhinoplasty for a variety of reasons, and it is one of the most requested cosmetic procedures. In addition to cosmetically changing the appearance of the nose, a nose job can correct breathing problems and repair trauma or defects.

There is no such thing as a “perfect” nose. Although there may be a celebrity whose nose you love, choosing a nose shape and size that is proportional and accentuates your other features will provide the most complementary result. Changing the shape of the nose not only improves the proportions of the nose but transforms your face by enhancing your overall facial symmetry.

There are a variety of corrections that can be made, including increasing or decreasing the size, widening or narrowing the bridge, adjusting nostril size and position, and refining the appearance of the nose. The initial size and structure of the nose, combined with the thickness of the skin, will determine what can be done while still achieving optimal results. In a one-on-one consultation, Dr. Lohner will discuss your surgical goals, answer questions, address any concerns, and create your customized treatment plan to ensure that you love the new nose you are going to get before you undergo surgery.

Rhinoplasty is performed as an outpatient procedure. Most incisions are made inside the nose and are not visible, but bruising typically develops around the eyes over the first few days and dissipates in about a 10-14 days. Your packing should be removed anywhere from a few days to a week, and the splint will be removed in a week to 10 days. Most swelling subsides within one or two months, but some subtle swelling will persist for up to one year. After the first few weeks, the swelling will only be noticed by you, but you may you may need to use special tape or other support tools if you need to wear glasses.
